DANCING TOGETHER FESTIVAL (2023)

Dancing together took place in April 2023. The festival transformed the Laban building- in Deptford- into a community hub, inviting local people to explore African Diasporic Dance history through interactive displays, activities and live workshops.

This free two-day Dance history festival was aimed at children and families living in the Lewisham Borough. The work displayed was created by locally based artists and through a series of collaborative workshops with local school and community groups.

The Project focused on celebrating African Diasporic art and Dance and creating connections to local experiences through platforming the community voice. The festival platformed the work of local arts companies and individuals working with African Diasporic practices and focuses.
